The Last Legion Trailer – In Theaters August 17th
Didn’t know about this till today. Aishwarya Rai plays a leading role in this; that of a warrior who trains the boy Ceaser. I’ve never been a fan of her work, so am afraid she will bring more of her wooden acting to this one as well. But then again, perhaps the director managed to encourage her to shine. Anyhow, I think I’ll wait for the DVD to find out…

Nice
How often do you find the right person? Once…
“Once”, an independent movie produced by Fox Searchlight music. The part I like best about it: You can listen to the entire soundtrack online at: http://www.foxsearchlight.com/once/
Now, I’ll be the first one to admit, no matter how good the soundtrack, take it out of the movie and music’s ability to move you diminishes somewhat. But to the extent that it can, this soundtrack still manages to evoke a strong emotional response. My personal favorite has to be “Falling Slowly”. But I’m getting ahead of myself. The tracks can be divided up into two groups. The ones that tend to touch some chord inside you somewhere. And then there are the other more light hearted ones. Overall the music has a strong emphasis on vocals, its folksy, with most songs set to a guitar, a piano and a violin. Other than “Falling Slowly”, I like “Lies”, “If you want me” and some others that I forget the name of. Just go listen to the tracks yourself. And if you like them, you might like the movie as well, so go ahead and support your local independent theater
And pay attention to the lyrics of “Broken Hearted Hoover…”
JetBlue Blows
I cannot believe the treatment meted out to customers at JFK today. Most, if not all west coast flights were cancelled. Hundreds, if not thousands of passengers were stranded at the airport. No clear indication of flight cancellations was given. The entire terminal flies JetBlue exclusively and it was terribly understaffed. The reps were rude, and would take long breaks knowing there were hundreds of folks in line. In one line (the cancellations line), there were over a hundred folks and just one rep at the head of the line. That line was easily a 4-5 hour wait.
And I thought after there recent woes in Feb and then in Jun, JetBlue would have learnt a lesson and would have gotten their act together… but I guess not!! There aren’t getting my business anymore, that’s for sure!
Bionic Woman — Coming to NBC
Its no secret that I enjoy sci-fi. The liking extends to books, movies, as well as TV series. And that brings me to bionic woman. I never saw the original, but have heard good things about the remake. Lets hope this one lives up to the life. My preliminary thoughts… not as good as BSG or Stargate series by any means.
